Marianne celebrates her 60th anniversary in music this year, and fans of her Decca catalogue are in for a treat on Record Store Day with the release of ‘Faithfull Forever…’ her 1966 studio album that was issued only in the United States. This new pressing on clear vinyl marks its first UK release and it has not been re-issued on vinyl in the US. The album is a defining moment of the baroque pop sound and features some of Marianne’s best 60’s performances with interpretations of songs by Donovan, Jackie DeShannon and Bob Lind that are particularly suited to her interpretive gifts.
Three of the albums’ tracks have never been released in the UK including the Herzog Jr / Kitchins jazz classic ‘Some Other Spring’ which will be a revelation to those who only know Marianne as a singer of folk pop.
All tracks have been remastered from the original tapes by Andrew Batt, and this special RSD release comes with detailed sleeve notes featuring exclusive commentary by Marianne herself and new artwork based on the original US sleeve. For more info on the release visit our discography
